Ontos Running Hat Overview
If you are a short-brimmed-hat-loving-person, you may be thrilled to know the founder, Joe, put a lot of thought and testing into getting it just right.
The design is thoughtful and functional for all runners. I tested it out both on the road and on the trails, and if I’m not thinking about the hat on my head, it’s a good hat.

The hat doesn’t budge in a strong gust of wind thanks to the design of the sizing band, which is also a heavenly contrast to Velcro closures that pull my hair.
The elastic adjustment strap allows the hat to fit securely without feeling uncomfortably tight.
When I was out running in the wind, it was really easy to tighten it up so it wouldn’t blow off my head.
Ontos Running Hat Review
This hat is super light and flexible, with great reflective details on it that I really appreciate as a runner who tends to run a lot of miles in the dark. You can fold this hat up and stuff it in your pack, and it unfolds perfectly into its original shape in no time.
The material is easy to clean and dries so quickly. I just rinsed it after my runs and hung it up to dry. It did a nice job of keeping its shape, also.

The brim is also adjustable, so you can bend it so it is curved or keep it flat if you prefer. You can also customize the fit of the cap with an adjustable buckle in the back. It was not sliding around, dropping down too low, or squeezing my head too tight.
And not only does this hat not cost a fortune, but it also has a 365-day sweat test. Yes, you read that correctly.
You can test it for a full year, and if you are not happy with it, they will send you a new one.
It’s important to note that this hat’s brim is a solid centimeter shorter all around than the brim of my Sprints cap.

Sadly, the short brim is a downside for me as it doesn’t quite block out the early morning or early evening sun, but it’s great if I’m running closer to noon or just want to wear a hat for fun.
Still, I love the design, especially the reflective logo. It reminds me of watching a sunset on the ocean and perfectly embodies “Ontos,” which comes from the Greek word for “being.”
