We know that I’m a huge fan of a good GPS watch and also SUPER PICKY. I’ve tested so many different watches now, pitting Suunto vs Polar vs Garmin, but one brand was my first love. TomTom.

So here’s and in depth review of the TomTom Spark 3 Cardio + Music GPS Fitness Watch.

TomTom Spark 3 Review

Does your running watch play music?? No?!

You are so behind the times.

Just kidding, but seriously you know how much I love my TomTomยฎ watches. They were one of the first to provide heart rate on the wrist and have been my go-to fitness watch for years..TomTom Spark 3 Review The TomTomยฎ Spark 3 Cardio + Music is so much more than a running watch. It eliminates the need for carrying a lot of other gadgets!

  • Comes with Bluetooth headphones (yes they’re included)
  • Holds up to 500 songs (no need to carry your phone while running)
  • GPS tracking
  • Heart rate monitored through wrist in a sensor on the Spark module – I’ve always found TomTom models to be extremely accurate
  • Daily step tracker (yay get rid of another thing!)
  • Multi-sport modeโ€”works for gyms, treadmill, outdoor running, swimming and indoor/outdoor biking too
  • Route feature allows you to find your way back or to load a new route (no more getting lost on my runsplorations)

In other words, this model which is older actually has many of the features that GPS watches tought as new and exciting. But of course and a much lower price point.

Here’s a little more of my thoughts and details on how to use the watch, including how you load the music and use it during the workout.

A few common requests for running shoes:

  • Garmin vs Suunto
  • Garmin vs Polar
  • Wireless running headphones
  • Best running hats

Have you tried the HR through the wrist?

LOL when I was training for a marathon I always had Queen’s “Don’t Stop Me Now” Come on around Mile 18 during my long runs! Totally pumped me up!

I think I need this watch! I hate taking up space on my phone. Love some of those song choices too!

I can’t believe you’ve never done a playlist post! I am definitely pinning this. I’m horrible, terrible, awful about getting in a rut with my playlist.

That’s probably why I don’t do playlists posts…it takes me forever to update :)

I just got a new GPS watch that has a heart rate monitor on the wrist. Since it’s so new, I don’t know how well it works yet, but I can tell you that it’s more comfortable than a strap.

I did a happy dance when I got rid of that strap!!!! I’ve always had good luck with the tomtom hr, you do have to have the watch pretty tight.

Am I behind the times for not knowing what a TomTom Watch is? I guess your educating a newbie here! And can I just say that I LOVE that I actually know and like the songs on your playlist Amanda! So often I scan the playlists people post online and I have NO idea what the songs are. At least by name anyway. You’ve made me feel a little better about my song choices :)

My power song at the moment is The Greatest by Sia. I love it, and it always sees me through tough times!

My “power” song? AC/DC’s Long Way to the Top if You Wanna Rock and Roll ;-) Just try and run s.l.o.w. to that one ;-) I’m interested in learning more about the TomTom…my Times Ironman kind of bit the dust (or maybe needs a new battery?). I’m gonna check out the TomTom website…thanks!
