The temps are dropping, fall plans are filling the calendar, and you’re standing in front of your closet trying to figure out what to wear. Brands heard us loud and clear. This season’s athleisure is basically “comfy but make it fall fashion.”

Listen, we understand, it’s tempting to wear running clothes everywhere. They’re comfy, cozy, and perfect for pretty much anything. But sometimes you want to look a little more put together without losing that comfort vibe.
So we tried out a few fun pieces that check all the style boxes and still feel good to move in. And yes, we snuck in a couple of lounge-ready pieces too because who’s to say sweatpants can’t be dressed up a little?
Fall Athleisure Round Up
Sporty and Functional – Title Nine Passport Dress
One of the best things when traveling is to have an item that can serve multiple purposes (ok also in general to cut down on waste). The Passport dress surprised me when I realized it would work through a variety of seasons!
It’s a super soft material making it comfortable to wear solo, of course with one of the best casual athletic shoes we’ve mentioned before. BUT because the zipper goes all the way down it can quickly transform into a long vest which is so popular right now.
It’s available in a couple colors, but I was drawn to the blue because I probably wear too much black and yet it’s still very simple so it will work for years to come (including my next beach getaway as a coverup).

I’m 5’9″ and you can see it’s a nice length on me. I’m wearing a small, which still has a little room and feels like a nice fit. If you wanted just a little more curve hugging you could size down, but per usual I like my space.
- Size: XS-XL
- Colors: 4 available
- 2 zippered pockets
- Slim fit
- Material: 50% polyester/31% nylon/12% tencel/7% spandex)
- Check it out from Titlenine.com for $129
Cute, Wool Comfort – Oofos Oomega Londoner
As rocked above with our new fall go to Vestdress (is that a word)? Oofos might be known for their recovery slides, but they actually do a whole lot more.
Luckily for those of us who enjoy COMFORT, but also want to bring a little fashion to our choices (hello not always just our running shoes) these are such a great option .
As always they promise that Oofos reduces impact, which is fantastic after a whole day on your feet picking pumpkins. I liked that these are wool which means warm and cozy as well.
Size wise they fit true to size and of course as a boot are a chunky fit. I wear a size 11 womens shoe…I know. So I will admit they look quite big on me, but hey welcome to my fall Lumberjack era. Which reminds me we don’t have any plaid in this list and now I’m starting to regret that.
- Weight: 9.0 oz Women’s
- Heel drop: 6mm
- Colors: 4 available
- Not available in wide
- Check it out from Oofos.com for $160
Casual Footwear for All Outfits – New Balance 327
Looking for a pair of sneakers to throw with a jeans, leggins or a dress? Both Amanda and Stacey highly recommend the 237’s from New Balance.
NB stepped it up with some unique details around the tread, the cute little nubs climb up the heel and also just make it feel like a shoe with some grip. We won’t be taking it for a hike, but also won’t worry about slipping on a wet stair.
Unlike some Brooks sneakers this doesn’t feel as accommodating to wider widths. The thin tongue can have issues with folding in, but if you get it on right the first time and don’t create an creases this shouldn’t be an issue.
The huge assortment of colors is another reason we’re so keen on this shoe! It’s also proven to be a style that says, so you should be able to wear these for years to come.
- Available in women’s and kids
- Available in 14 colors
- Not available in wide
- Also a golf shoe version
- Find on Newbalance.com starting at $74.99
Upcycled Warmth – Smartwool Second Cut Fleece Jacket
Smartwool started a program called second cut, where they actually used recycled socks to make the new products! What the discovered is that the new threads are actually more durable than the original. So much so that it broke the sewing machine!
Adore that program and we can’t wait to see them continue to expand this line. Right now you’ll also find gloves and hats in the line up. AND you can request a bag free to send in any brand of old socks you have! No more tossing them in the garbage.
But for right now, let’s talk about the cozy fleece jacket (that might just look a lot like a higher price point competitor). I’ve been wearing it everywhere and love the hand pockets and of course the front zipper pocket for a key.
Would I run in this? 100% you could on those truly cold days, so far it’s just been a great hiking and out and about jacket.
Wearing a size small and it’s a roomy fit, so size down if you want something more fitted. I can easily get on a fairly thick shirt under this.
- Size: XS-XL
- Colors: 2 available
- 2 side pockets, 1 secure chest pocket
- Relaxed fit
- Material: 25% Recycled Wool/Reprocessed Wool, 25% Merino Wool
- Check it out from Smartwool.com for $175
Fall Colors for Fitness – Varlo Soho Fitness Shorts
If you’re curvy like me and have trouble finding a pair of shorts that stay put, your search can end here.
The Soho line from Varlo is not only made from the softest fabric, but it’s also designed to stay in place once you start running (or cycling, or stretching, or lifting).
Oh, and look, it has pockets! I’ve carried everything from fuel to a FlipBelt bottle and even my iPhone 17 Pro Max. Even with the weight of my phone, these shorts never felt weighed down or moved.
They even come in full-length leggings, which can be dressed up for wear with a sweater and cute shoes to achieve a stylish yet cozy outfit.
One of the things that stands out about Varlo products is their quality. I’ve had a black pair of running shorts that I got a few years ago, and they’re still in great condition after many miles and many washes.
- Size: XS-XXL
- Colors: 3 available
- Length: 8″ and 5″
- 2 pockets
- Material: 60% Polyester / 40% Elastane

Classic Style and Wind/Water Blocking – Tracksmith Overland Jacket
Need to go somewhere post run, then Tracksmith is often a winning option. Their new Overland collection designed for the trails actually feeds right in to our fall needs quite well even for the roads.
The men’s overland short sleeve is a burnt orange, the women’s is a green (which I’m wearing under this) and of course the jacket is just a nice Iron.
I’ve worn this out on a number of runs and it’s a warm wind breaker because it also has a bit of a water-protective coating.
Meaning I would keep it for cooler days and not like the 45 degree 20MPH run I just did. The jacket also has breathable vents under the arms which is highly appreciated!
Durable material, so I know I can wear this with my hydration pack and there won’t be any tears. I’m wearing a small and in Tracksmith sometimes that is too small, but here it’s a great fit and I found that throughout the Overland collection (seriously checkout the shorts which have insane pockets).
- Size: XS-XL
- Colors: 2 available
- 2 pockets and front zipper pocket.
- Material: 100% Polyester
- Available from Tracksmith.com for $215
