Falling asleep by 9 is my norm at home, so the initial idea of a Cancun getaway seemed like a poor fit. Until winter kicked in and I thought, yes, yes I would like to enjoy some sunshine.
Then I found Le Blanc Spa Resort – an all-inclusive adults only resort that made Trip Advisers top 25 list! Now, I knew I could do Cancun my way: wellness travel!
DAD TURNS 70
As some of you might know, my Dad had a very unexpected heart attack in 2018. It was one of the scariest moments for our family, but because he’s a healthy person he bounced back to his handyman, weekly golf game ways within just a few short months.
So when his birthday rolled around in November, I said we NEED to celebrate. 70 is huge! You’re alive. I want to spend time together. And since he happens to dislike winter, I thought let’s plan for a warm weather vacation!!
After tossing around ideas, we agreed on Cancun! It would be my mom’s first trip out of the country!!
Knowing that I spent a lot of time considering our options…and Le Blanc was a superstar. Upon arriving, we walked in to their room and found that my one tiny mention of his birthday lead to them setting up balloons, special notes and special chocolates.
I heard a couple there for their anniversary say they walked in one evening to find rose petals, romantic music and the romance aromatherapy all set up. Not something they’d asked for at all, just part of the little touches we’d come to see were the norm.
Le Blanc Spa Resort
Finally, I found Le Blanc and everything about it screamed YOU DESERVE THIS. I didn’t want to go and just eat bad food for a week and lay around. I wanted to lay around, eat good food and enjoy the heck out of their fitness area!Views from our room…sigggggh.
You might initially think an all-inclusive resort isn’t set up for a wellness getaway, but oh my friends you would be so very wrong in this case.
Essential Oils
I’ve never been a hotel anywhere that smelled as good all the time!! I know this sounds like an odd thing to say, but it was so noticeable we all mentioned it. Basically essential oils being infused on every floor creating a non-stop wonderful ambiance. And inside your room is a diffuser which you can ring your personal butler to come fill with a scent you choose.
Butler Service
Yes, I totally just said butler. Which is designed to reduce your stress level by helping to take care of all kinds of things from unpacking, to running a jacuzzi with bath salts to…. realizing you booked your return flight for March 26th not February 26th and then running around the hotel to find you and help resolve it.
I wasn’t entirely sure how a butler service worked, so if you’re wondering here’s a run down!
Each floor as an assigned butler, who can help you to make dinner reservations, unpack your clothes, pack your clothes, run your Jacuzzi while you’re at dinner, answer questions, book car services to the airport, print your boarding passes and so much more!
They’re stationed by the elevator, greeting you each time you arrive on the floor and always checking to see if there’s anything you might need to make your stay better. Basically they want you to let go of your worries and to do’s.
Healthy food options galore!
While they did have these incredible house made chocolates, every meal offered a variety of fish, grilled vegetables and yes even beet juice or celery juice at breakfast!
In other words, you could pretty easily choose to stay on track with your eating habits or have the little splurge or two.
Fitness Center
Inside the fitness center they offer a variety of workout classes, plus actually have a gym that’s well equipped with brand new weights and Woodway treadmills. We watched a bit of a TRX class, but opted to wait and do the Pilates reformer. It was a killer core workout and make me wonder why I don’t have a mobile reformer?!
Poolside
While sitting poolside they’re constantly on hand to move umbrellas for more shade or even bringing around fun little surprises like spiced pineapple and cold wash clothes after spritzing your face!
Hot/Cold Therapy
Mom enjoyed an afternoon in the spa with a hot stone massage, but all of us had access to the hydrotherapy area for free. David and I headed in to do the hot/cold therapy first from the sauna to the cold room and then for the real test the hot tub to the col tub. BRRRRR.
When I was looking for information on the resort, here are a few of the photos or things I was curious to know more about!
Restaurants
Unlike past all-inclusives where there is basically a couple all day buffet style restaurants and then a pizza place, this was legit some of the best quality food we’ve had while traveling!
One restaurant is set up as a buffet for breakfast and lunch. There you’ll still find the quality above and beyond your standard:
- Omelet bar
- Waffles, pancakes, french toast
- Juices (green, beet, papaya), smoothies and yogurt parfaits
- European style with meats and cheeses available
- Quality breads galore
- And even more substantial food like pulled pork, veggies, etc.
Meanwhile at lunch…
- Sushi, sashimi, seafood read to cook to order
- Wagu beef burgers, cooked to order
- Stir fry station
- Plenty of salmon, fish, mussels, pork – protein options
- Lots of veggie options
- Pastas
- Breads again
- Ice cream bar
- Dessert station like nothing you’ve seen
And while you’re eating, the staff is constantly ready to carry your plate or just check in to see if you need anything else. Kind, friendly, and easy, they make everything just a little more wonderful. Plus, every meal they would ask if you have any food allergies so they can be sure to accommodate you!
At night this restaurant (Blanc) becomes traditional upscale Mexican. In other words, you won’t find those cheese drenched burritos with refried beans here. Instead, you’ll experience some new flavors and my foodie friends, I guarantee you’ll be thrilled.
Beyond that at lunch or dinner there is the Terraza where we actually ate 3 times because the food was perfect for our family. David tried pizza, seafood linguine, mom had lobster and steak, Dad tried steak and the catch of the day, while I enjoyed a boatload of grilled veggies, their guac and some fish.
Additionally, they have an Asian restaurant, Japanese, Italian and the super fancy wear your best clothes restaurant which we opted out because we were so happy just being casual.
Spa and Fitness
Ok another area that’s always on my list is to understand what the spa and gym look like.
Inside the spa as noted above there is a relaxation area, where you can simply enjoy a little time out of the sun, if you like 90% of the people we saw were a tad red. In that area you’ll find:
- Sauna (not infrared)
- Steam room
- Rainshower
- Cold room
- Hot tub
- Cold tub
- Warm tub
- Warming stone chairs
- Lockers, showers and of course tea, cucumber water, mixed nuts for munchies
Next door to this area is the gym
Beach
The two infinity pools look out over the properties private beach front with hammocks, lounge chairs, umbrellas and small cabanas. You’ll receive the same prompt waiter service and towel service there as poolside!
The soft side is great for a walk or run (of course)! And it extends uninterrupted for miles in both directions, which just makes for a great way to walk along the water hand in hand or side by side chatting as the breeze hits your face.
Surrounding Area
As someone who needs to go run to feel human, I wasn’t sure if this would be an area where I felt completely comfortable… it was! First you can go for miles along the beach, which was part of Dad’s morning walk and mine!
But outside the resort I took a right and found a fun red paved path winding alongside the road and lined with palm trees. You’ll see plenty of security in front of each property along with plenty of other people walking and a few bikers.
There you have it!! Truly one of the best resorts I’ve ever stayed and I would go back in a heartbeat! In fact, since I had booked us there an extra month, my husband considered staying!

All inclusive resorts in Cancun are so amazing!! <3 My husband and I went to a Secrets resort for our honeymoon last fall after a major job transition, and it was nice to just spend some time together. https://runningmybestlife.com/goals-major-life-transition/ Although I think a wellness vacation focused on good food is going to be my next vacation! That sounds perfect <3

oh yes, I have written about them when I worked for a travel company. It’s such a great treat.
