Healthy, yet manly, Recipes for Father’s Day

I don’t know why healthy food is often considered unmanly…maybe because a “real man” eats a steak with his bare hands while chugging a beer before crushing it on his forehead. Well that’s just one theory.

I think what it actually means is a meal that is filling, satisfying and not a few wisps of iceberg lettuce. In other words, if you’d feed it to the rabbit, it’s probably not hearty enough. I know all of this from watching my own Father and husband ponder my sometimes bizarre plates of food with nothing but mounds of veggies. I see filling VOLUME, they see lack of meat.

Thus in honor of theses great men who support our weird food allergies or simply our choice to enjoy healthier fare a few healthy manly recipes that you can feel good about watching them devour. {warning bibs are recommended due to excessive drooling}.

Haha! I love this…manly food. Because eating salads is just so girly, right? LOL!

    Great ideas, BTW!

Love this! My husband enjoys salads (as long as there's fish or meat) and meat-free dishes, but he always lets me know if I've been feeding us too many meatless meals! Pinning this for future recipe and meal planning ideas.

Even though I cook vegan, I always think about "manly" when I prepare dinner. For my husband it's having a protein as the main part of the meal (instead of a steak so to speak). But he usually loves all my food, even my salads.
