Where can running shoes take you?: The Video Shoot Story

Running shoes are for sweat.

They’re also for darting through the lush green back roads of Ireland with a boisterous team of other endorphin chasers. For eyes spilling tears after 26.2 miles of pounding the pavement. For hearts exploding after the rush of achieving new goals. For lung burning quick steps conquering mountains to be rewarded with pure silence and miles of untouched beauty.

Running shoes have quite literally changed my life.

I found confidence.
I found a new job.
I found friendship.
I found new countries, new trails, new achievements.

This week I’m enjoying another new experience…I shared a snippet on Instagram yesterday and thought I’d throw in more details about this great California work trip.
Doing a video shoot for Treadmillreviews.netSeriously can someone do my make up every day?!

When my friends at Treadmillreviews.net asked me to come out to shoot a series of videos about treadmills for them I geeked out. {Yeah like the whoop it call your husband as though you’ve won a major award.} It’s no secret that I’m LOVE treadmill running for a variety of reasons, don’t believe me, check out my list of posts:
Optimizing race performance with treadmill running >>
7 boredom busting treadmill workouts >>
One of many 20 mile treadmill marathon training runs >>

No it’s not glamorous I’m not creating the next ToneItUp Girls workout DVDs or anything like that. Really I’m a lot like the Zappos person telling you all about a shoe only this time it’s a treadmill! It makes sense to me as more of shop online we want to really “see” the machine before clicking buy now.
Treadmill Video ReviewsThis is not only a FUN way for me to polish my on camera skills, but also discover the true pro’s and con’s of nearly 30 treadmills. I’ll share more about this once the videos are done, hey I’ve still got a full day of shooting left before they start editing!
Treadmills for video reviewsRUNNER’S PRIORITIES
Having my priority straight when I landed in California I had one goal, run.

After all running is what gave me this great opportunity right?! Lack of time or being in a new place is never a reason for me to skip one…especially because running in California is a DREAM compared to the Florida heat and humidity!!

Thus after snagging a rental car {look out Cali peeps I’m on the road}, I steered myself over to Harbor Island. This is a great little space directly across from the airport that many people never see. It offers great views of downtown and when I have time for longer runs I love that the waterfront path here runs all the way to downtown.
Running on Harbor IslandAfter that I had of course strategically mapped out a natural food store on the way to the hotel out in Rancho Bernardo where I could pick up dinner and of course some greens for the morning. Like I said…priorities!
RWMagazine in hand, I settled in for work and then pondering what the big shoot would be like…I’m happy to say day one was a roaring success and now having taken advantage of the nearby hills thisย  morning I’m ready to jam out for day two!

What’s the coolest thing your running shoes have allowed you to do?

Love this "running as life changing" theme. Have fun with it! My running shoes have given me only the basic kind of cool that makes life more energetic in general, but I'll take it! Oh, and I got to meet Joan Benoit Samuelson (amazing)!

Yay for you! Love watching your adventures and seeing you reap some rewards from all of your hardwork. The coolest thing my running shoes have allowed me to do: Run a full freaking marathon in freaking Honolulu with YOU by my side and with my daughter and dear friend! Can't wait to see where else they take me and what cool adventures they bring my way!
