If you’ve been around the running world for a minute, you’re probably familiar with the entire industry that has built up around recovery. When it comes to recovery footwear specifically, OOFOS have all but become a household name.
You very likely have tried a pair of their recovery slides and may also have tried some of their other footwear options like the clogs, especially if you work in healthcare or foodservice.
Up until recently, that was about the extent of their line. Comfortable, yes, but not entirely fashionable. However, now OOFOS is expanding into shoes that look more like….well, actual shoes, designed not just for recovery but everyday wear. You may have seen the adorable Oofos boots Coach Amanda posted in the recent runner Fall style article!
As a long time lover of the OOFOS slides, I was excited to have the opportunity to try out one of the newest OOFOS casual shoe offerings, the Club+. It promised to deliver ultimate comfort with classic styling. Read on to see if measured up.
Who is it Good For?
- Wide Feet: They do not come in a wide width, though did have a roomy mid- and forefoot.
- Walking Workouts: Plenty of cushion, but the rocker feel and lack of stability make them not the best choice for long walks.
- Standing All Day: The cushioning and light weight of these make them comfortable to wear for hours.
- Daily Wear: The comfort and stylish upper make these an easy choice for everyday casual wear.
OOFOS Club+ Overview
OOFOS describes the Club+ as “one shoe (for) every move.” I really put the OOFOS Club+ through the paces to figure out where they’d fall in my everyday shoe rotation.
Straight out of the box, I slipped them on and went for a walk around the block. They felt essentially as I expected them to feel – like my OOFOS slides, with an actual shoe upper on top.
However, just as I never would take my slides out for a long distance walk, I quickly decided that the Club+ were not going to be my pick for sustained walking efforts. While comfortable, there’s just not enough support for distance walking for me.
However, all was not lost. Where the Club+ shined for me was in everyday wear. My primary intention for trying these shoes was for wearing when I go out on patient home visits, since I spend a lot of time in and out of the car, walking on all sorts of terrain, and often standing for up to an hour at a time.
For that, I need a shoe that’s reliably comfortable but also looks somewhat decent, and can also easily wipe clean if needed.
The Club+ checks all of those boxes and more. The black leather upper and no-tie elastic laces made them easy to slip on, give them a professional look and are easy to keep clean. The lightweight OOfoam footbed absorbs plenty of impact making them comfortable to wear while walking and standing throughout the day.
Just to be doubly sure, I also wore them while walking around for several hours at a fancy car show at a local golf course.
Again, they not only looked decent with my outfit, but also kept my feet and legs comfortable while walking around the challenging terrain of the golf course and standing around while my car-obsessed 9 year old son lived his best life.
OOFOS Club+ Specs
- Available in 2 Colors
- Available in women’s 5 to 11 (with 1/2 sizes)
- Available in men’s 8 to 14 (with some 1/2 sizes)

Quick Take
Pros
- Easy to slip on
- Light weight impact absorption
- Roomy toe box
Cons
- Not for long walks
- Only available in 2 colors
Only two colors to choose from so far – all black or all white uppers – but either would be a good neutral choice to match just about any outfit. Which is perfect for a more casual all day shoe, than our traditional neon running shoes.
OOFOS Club + Fit
One of my biggest concerns about slip on shoes is always whether my narrow heel will slip. I was pleasantly surprised to find the stretch heel collar ensured my heels stayed in place with no rubbing. The elastic laces held my foot in snugly without putting too much pressure on the top of my foot.
The toebox was roomy enough without feeling or looking like I was wearing clown shoes, which I appreciated given the already very thick-appearing foam midsole. The sizing was consistent with the slides I have, with the added benefit of half sizes being available in the Club+.
OOFOS Club+ Feel
I mentioned before that the Club+ initially felt like my favorite pair of OOFOS Slides, with an upper attached to the top. After wearing them a little more, I came to decide that they don’t feel QUITE as soft and squishy as my slides, but that’s probably a good thing for a shoe that’s meant to be worn all day.
OOFOS says their OOfoam technology absorbs 37% more impact than traditional footwear. While I can’t say with mathematical certainty if that percentage felt accurate to me, what I can confirm is that the Club+ was definitely comfortable for the amount of standing and walking around I do on a daily basis.
And I appreciated that they look reasonably fashionable, as well – not as much like clunky orthopedic shoes as I feared.
Similar Shoes to the OOFOS Club+
Looking for another shoe for standing all day? We’ve compiled our list of the best walking shoes to help narrow it down, but here are a couple that feel similar.
- Hoka Bondi – Max cushioned that’s great for being on your feet but not the same squish as the OOFOS.
- Topo Recovr 2 – Closed toe recovery shoe with massaging texture foot bed.
- On Cloudtilt – Super casual looking shoe, but ideal for walking around all day long.
The whole team here does a lot of walking, yes beyond our runs, and has been testing a lot of shoes to help really give you an idea of what’s a good fit. It’s super important to not wear just any old thing when you’ll be on your feet all day.
It really makes a difference in the fatigue of your feet, your lower back and how you’ll feel the next day. If you find yourself in bed at night sore, that’s often a sign your legs worked too hard in the shoes all day.
Overall, the OOFOS Club+ is a comfortable, clean-looking choice to add to your everyday casual footwear collection, especially if you struggle at all with foot or leg pain with prolonged standing and walking. While these may not be my first choice for fitness walking, they will still get plenty of daily wear when I’m out and about working and running errands. Our Verdict
