Best Seriously Cold Weather Leggings – Crash 2.0 PolarTec Tights from Title Nine
WINNING for so warm and an easy to use phone pocket! As a runner who really hates to be cold, these are my go to when winter is throwing down.
This isnโt a chilly morning pair, but really that legging you want when the temps have really started to drop. They are my go to for getting through really cold runs. I love that the side zippered pocket is big enough for a phone, but not quite as easy to get things in and out as spandex pockets thanks to the zipper.
The bonus of the zipper is you can use these for a ton of winter activities.

These joggers strike a sweet spot between durability, breathability, and all-day comfort. Theyโre not overly technical-looking, which means I also wear them to run errands around town or even for travel (perfect for flying!), but theyโre tough enough for serious missions.
If youโre looking for a pair of joggers that offer genuine trail utility without feeling like overbuilt hiking pants, the Everyday Track Pants are a great option.

What We Considered For the Best Running Leggings
There are a few key things to consider when trying on running tights. Let’s look at why fabric and fit matter, so you can make your own decisions when you come upon a pair you like the look of!
Fabric
Your tights, whether theyโre capris, โ -length, or full length, play a role in temperature regulation in every season. The material should be moisture-wicking to help keep you dry in the hottest and coldest of weather.
Fabric thickness is also important. You will want a thicker, fleece-lined wicking fabric for those cold weather running days, but come summer youโll need something lightweight with breathability. Tights with mesh panels sewn in can be a great option in the heat.
Fit
Fit encompasses a couple of things, including the rise, the length, and staying power. High-rise leggings have become quite popular, but mid-rise options are still out there. In addition, you donโt want to be fussing with your tights while youโre running, so you need a pair that stays put and doesnโt sag or slide down.
Depending on the season, you may want leggings that stop just below the knee, at mid-calf, ankle, or full-length. Some even come in short, regular, and tall inseams to accommodate varying heights.
You can check out some of my other running bottoms recommendations if youโre looking for something for a specific season, shorts, for a specific feature like pockets, or for the running men in your life.
