If you follow me on Instagram, you already saw a few of my photos from this weekend…but since it was a weekend all about improving my photography skill {and umm yes eating} I had to share just a little bit more. Even with all the eating, it was another opportunity to prove that active travel is EASY! Just get out and explore!
This small, personalized event was put on my Saveur Magazine and Sony with lots of help from the Le Crusset demo kitchen and amazing professional photographers like Andy Katz. I have long wanted to visit this city and couldn’t have imagined a sweeter group of people to do it with! Everyone who registered had such different stories and backgrounds, but they meshed immediately and not once did anyone complain!
Enough chatter let’s do a little camera roll tour!We descended with cameras at the ready to capture everything we could think of…it was truly amusing to watch this group attempt to walk down the street. Above Sony friend Rosie capturing some of the great front porch decorations.
Above: Basket weaving on Broad street, exploring the colors of the Historic District, Chef Deihl cooking demonstration, with Sony Club friend and amazing photog Viv, more historic district and the Magnolia Plantation.
They provided a number of great tips about photography like focus on the light and what story you want to tell, but with places like the Magnolia Plantation well…I think any shot was going to be magnificent! The one aspect I am still working on is food photography, which is amusing since there was in fact A LOT of that happening over the weekend.
Have you ever been to Charleston? I’m excited to go back this spring for the Palmetto Relay because of course that means more time exploring my way…running!
