My knees are sore, but my heart is full! What a great week of running, blogger meet ups, Oakley Ambassador meet ups and oh yes work!
OAKLEY AMBASSADOR
I was very lucky to meet up with Francesca for dinner one night. I hope to run with her next time as she is actually a running tour guide and I’m sure would have tons of great information!
Torture of all tortures is that that the Nike Women’s race was this weekend and I didn’t know it until I got there…Miss Francesca had a bib but wasn’t able to run, so my opening was so close and yet so far away. After being gone a week, I really wanted to get back to David…why oh why haven’t we moved to California yet?
RUNNING BLOGGERS
Truly this was an amazing meet up. At the 2010 San Diego expo, I was lucky enough to meet Aron (of Runners Rambles), but it was very quick. It was really great to really talk with her during this run and find out she is truly as kind, pleasant and pretty in person as she seems through her writing. I also had probably one of my favorite meet ups in a very long time; Katie A has been one of the most inspiring bloggers and consistent commenters ever. After two years, it really felt like we’d been friends forever! But it’s always crazy to actually see someone in person and realize they are exactly what you thought, except way tinier –I suppose running a 3 hour marathon does that to you. Congrats to Katie on her recent Portland Marathon…seriously can you imagine being in the top 30?!
Aron was kind enough to round up some other great bloggers and runners, who I haven’t known as long, but now am reading! They all were just such a pleaserure, seriously I sound gushy but it was just a perfect running group. From left to right (Katie A, Janna, Aron, Me, Karin, Alyssa)
My knees are definitely not used to hills any more, so they were very sore…but the climb we did up one final hill was absolutely worth it and those knees didn’t keep me from running nearly 6 miles every day along the Embarcadero.
WORK
I really did enjoy this conference and some of the speakers were incredibly inspiring. Take Blake the founder of Tom’s Shoes or Chamillionare…that’s right that rapper had some things to say about pursuing your passion not for money, about loving your fans and about not being afraid to break the status quo.
