Stetson. What comes to mind when you hear that name? Perhaps Stetson hats makes you think of cowboys or maybe you are a coinsurer of fine liquor in which case you thought gin! Either way you are right on! A few weeks ago, we were invited to a special tour of the Stetson Mansion.
Built in 1886 the mansion actually had EDISON himself there installing the electricity! But I’m getting ahead of myself, this house and tour is unlike anything I’ve seen in all of our trips. Why?! Well because the house has been restored in many ways to it’s original feel…but at the same time is actually used and LIVED in, so there are also modern touches.
A quick 45 minute drive North of Orlando the mansion would be an ideal spot for small weddings {great outdoor space and profession kitchen}, events or meetings! You can check out the interesting things around the house and yes actually sit down in any room and enjoy it! A great off the beaten path place for those who aren’t interested in a week long Disney trip, but want to visit Orlando!
Normally they do not allow photography, but provided us with a great opportunity to snap some pictures so I’ll let them do the talking! Tons of stained glass, not a shred of wallpaper because everything was redone by amazing artists who crafted walls that look like paper or art and many contain gold!!
10 of the nation’s most rare and intricate parquet wood floor patterns — Really crazy to think this were all hand laid and different patterns in every single room. Truly a work of art.
I have more photos, but I don’t want to ruin the fun, so this is a must on your next Orlando vacation or for my new Central Florida friends something interesting to do on your weekend!

I am grateful that David has such a love of architecture. It gets me excited about things like wood floors too!
We did receive this tour for free, but were not compensated in any way for the review. All opinions are my own.
