“What’s your favorite race?”
“Do you have a favorite workout?”
I know people are supposed to have favorites…like oh the color yellow or Twizzlers or almond butter over peanut butter, but the truth is I just can’t choose!!
I can certainly point to things I don’t like and I very clearly like running more than many other things, but narrowing down a favorite is simply too hard.
Hence my excitement when I saw Patty and Jill post something about their top 5 favorite running moments awhile back.
MY TOP 5 RUNNING MOMENTS
I’ve been pondering it since then and here is what I’ve selected:
1) Puerto Rico Half Marathon
This was David’s first half marathon and though he beat the pants off of me after we split around mile 10, it was so much fun to see him tackle this distance and yes I was proud even though he crushed me.David’s debut race >>
2) Honolulu Marathon
I think I was closer to tears than Jodi for half of this race. I was so excited for her and loved every moment of being by her side on what I know can be a very long and mentally taxing day. It was a sweet sweet day that I’ll remember for a long time.

3) 12,000 Feet and Climbing
The ultra running camp in Jackson Hole, Wyoming was no joke and I was probably way out of my league, but I showed up and loved it.

4) Ireland Relay
Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine I’d be running through the countryside of Ireland as part of a relay team with a bunch of people I’d never met, sponsored by Saucony. Wow.Race to Kinvara Relay recap>>
5) Houston Marathon
Interestingly this one is less about my actual race than it is those I watched. The day before the race was the Olympic trials and it was a thrill to be on the streets watching these amazing athletes {many of whom I’d met} go flying by! I also channeled that the next day for sure!Olympic trials recap >>

It scares me a little that so many of my favorite moments happened just last year…how does one top a year of running like that?! Can I also admit for a solo runner, I find it amusing most of my top moments involve other people!
What’s one of your favorite running moments?
Could you pick an absolute favorite??
