The VELOUS Hoya Adjustable Slide is equipped with Tri-Motion Technology for optimized foot movement and triple-density Foamotion foam for comfort and support.

There’s no better feeling than slipping into a comfortable pair of slides after a hard workout or long run. Some key features of a good recovery shoe include cushioning, arch support, and a wide toe box. Additionally, if they’re easy to slide on, that’s a bonus!
But are they worth investing in another kind of shoe or recovery product?
Who is it Good For?
- Wide Feet: The adjustable strap makes it a great option for any foot width.
- Walking Workouts: Not for actual workouts, but after runs or around the house are perfect.
- Standing All Day: These have great cushion and support to keep feet from tiring.
- Daily Wear: Nice basic colors to coordinate with outfits, but may not be the best style option with normal day to day outfits.
Is VELOUS Hoya Slide Worth It?
While recovery sandals are not a necessity for runners, these would be a nice option to have if you need something to slide on after a hard workout. Runners with a history of foot issues such as plantar fasciitis may really benefit from this kind of sandal to wear around the house.
The recovery market is now in the billions, so it’s no surprise we’re seeing more and more shoes in the recovery sandle arena. Velous has set themselves apart with their marketing speak of the “trimotion technology”. Some of which we absolutely noticed and some just felt like a comfy slide.
You can really feel the arch support when wearing these slides. Unlike most sandals, they leave your feet feeling fully supported. That’s one piece of the trimotion!
Next is the heel cup which is going to provide more stability and ensure that you’re getting a great supportive underfoot feel for wearing these around a long time. Meanwhile we’ve all heard how bad basic flip flops are for your feet, these are the opposite!
With the deep heel cup so you never feel like your foot is going to come out of the shoe. There are also side stabilizers for motion control.
The cushion is soft and comfortable, so even with that arch support there is a soft feel underfoot. And lets be honest that’s one of the primary things we’re looking or when slapping something on our tired feet.
The final piece here is a little toe spring which should help you feel like you’re easily rolling forward with each step.
Ok so who is most going to benefit:
- Athletes who need a good option for walking around post workout
- Those dealing with Plantar fasciitis or other foot issues that require not going barefoot at home
- Needing a slide with more arch support
- If you’ll be standing a long time in slides, the extra arch support is important

Quick Take
Pros
-
Soft and comfortable cushioning
-
Arch support
-
Adjustable strap for different foot widths
-
Lightweight
Cons
-
Not many color options
-
May not last if worn frequently
Let’s talk a bit more about each component.
Comfort and Support
These do truly feel like both a cushioned and supportive recovery shoe.
Unlike most sandals which don’t provide much, if any support, these have both arch support and a cupped heel that help your foot stay in place. The soft cushioning makes them comfortable to walk around in.

Durability
These seem fairly durable for such a lightweight sandal. I’m sure if they were worn out and about all day every day they would wear down fairly quickly.
However, if they are worn for a few hours a few times a week, mostly around the house, I could see them lasting a long time.
Style
While slides like these aren’t usually my style preference, sometimes you need to focus on practicality over looks. These are great for wearing around the house or to run out to do quick errands.
I do appreciate that most of the color options are subtle, but if you are looking for something more fun you may not be too impressed with what is available.
Coach Amanda: I tested a pair of these last year and while I loved the underfoot feel, the strap caused me a lot of issues. I never could find a tightness level that didn’t dig in to the top of my foot. I was definitely bummed, but love that a different tester didn’t notice this.
